MAKE UP TIPS

For Bright Eyes
eyes makeupLine the eyes as close as possible to the lash line, with a dark Brown or black liner, and end with a slight upward flick when you reach the outer corners. Add shadow above the line in a gradation effect so eyes appear brighter and bigger. A dark Brown shade at the base lilac in the middle and a wash of pink on the brow bone work best. Curl the lashes to open the eyes and use volumising and lenghtening mascaras for lush lashes. Coat lashes from root to tip with the volumising and lengthening version from mid-length to the tips to complete the doll-like effect.

For a full, sexy pout
sexy lookWith a lip pencil, draw about one to one and a half milimetres outside your natural lip line. Then, fill in with colour, using the lip pencil first to avoid having that unsightly ring around the mouth that remains after a meal. Apply your chosen lip colour with a lip brush and finish off with a dab of gloss on the centre of the lips. Remember to exfoliate your lips to get rid of dry flaky skin as smooth lips always look sexier and fuller than dry ones.

For clear and dewy skin
Once the pores are more refined, your face is less prone to excess oil secretion. Then apply the pre-make up base, which balances out skin’s moisture level and helps foundation sit beter. After all, moist and resilient skin makes make-up look fresh where a matte complexion leaves you looking dull.

For Radiance
Use two different shades of foundation instead of the usual one all over. Apply a slightly fairer or brighter shade to the centre of the face- cheeks and forehead- and use a shade that is closer to your skin tone on the other areas and neck. Set with a light dusting of loose powder.

Eyeshadow for brown eyes
Brown eyes look great in blue and pink tones as well as golds and burnt oranges. The intensity of color you wear depends on your skin tone. For fair skin, use a soft blue on the eylid, plum on the outer edge of the eye, and pink under the eyebrow. For medium to deeper skin tone, the plum could be used on the lid and into the crease area. Line eyes with a navy or plum color and black mascara.

Concealer Application
makeup brushesAfter applying eye cream, apply a concealer with a synthetic makeup brush just under the eyes and along inner bone of eye. This area is often dark. By using the brush, you will achieve a smooth finish. You can then apply some foundation over this to achieve a blended makeup look. Concealer can also be applied to blemishes or dark spots.

Lips

  • Keep lips moisturized at night with petroleum jelly or lip balm.
  • Use a lip liner that matches your lipstick.
  • To make thin lips appear larger, apply your liner just outside of your natural lip line. Add a final touch with lip gloss.
  • Apply pressed powder on and around your lips if your lipstick has a tendency to “bleed.”
  • If you’re blond, avoid dark colors that appear too harsh.
  • Never apply lipstick testers to your lips in a store. It’s not hygienic. Try applying it to the back of your wrist instead.
  • Unless your teeth are sparkling white, avoid coral and orange lipsticks. Instead, try red, pink or plum.
  • To avoid getting lipstick on your teeth, after application, run your finger through the middle of your lips and pull it back out. The excess will come off on your finger — not your teeth.
